Sammy and Johnny returned from a Galax jam around 5AM Wednesday morning, They were joined by Vern and Lacy to play at 11:00 in Winston. Thursday night was a blast having everybody back together. The full band played to a packed house Bimini’s. The place was rocking!

The band has been substituting many players in and out over the last 2 months. Mark “Vern” Vernon has returned form his Ireland tour, Johnny is back from vacation and Sammy will be back with us on Thursdays. This Thursday, August 6, will be the first time in 2 months that the regular gang will crank it up. Don’t miss us at Bimini’s! This week Galax Virginia hosts the 74th Old Fiddler’s Convention. http://www.oldfiddlersconvention.com/ Our very own Glen Alexander has won this competition on two occasions and consistently finishes in the top three. He has finished 2nd the last two years. Let’s wish him luck as he crosses the stage once again to compete. |

As many of you know, beginning this month we are playing Bimini’s Oyster Bar twice a month (first and third Thursday nights). On June 18th, we will be joined by a long time friend and musician Darren Perry. Darren is a talented player of many instruments and a great vocalist. He will sit in on bass guitar and backing vocals June 18th and July 2nd as Mark Vernon travels to Ireland to fill in for the Carter Brothers.
If you didn’t catch Lacy Green’s first show, be sure to check out this young talent. She will be joined by her father (Johnny) for 6 more exciting shows this summer. You’ll hear current music as well as some of her original stuff. |

Johnny, Vern and Sammy had a wonderful time playing on Memorial Day at Sammy’s farm in Meadows of Dan, VA. On Friday, May 29th Johnny Green’s daughter (Lacy) will be performing her first full show at Bimini’s. Johnny will accompany her on guitar and mandolin. Come see this wonderful young talent! Then on Sunday, May 31st be sure to catch the whole band as they perform from 2-5 at the Archdale location for Ed Price Realtors and Associates.
